UGM delivers Australia Week in China 2014 cultural briefing

Dr Margaret Byrne of UGM Consulting delivered Austrade's cultural briefing for the 600 Australian organisations participating in the Australia Week in China 2014 trade mission.

Part cultural awareness raising and part development of cultural competence, Dr Byrne's cultural training focused on essential aspects of cultural difference that might be useful in business contexts. The briefing also offered valuable advice on how to best use English as a business language and how to ensure that the use of translators and translation improves the quality of dialogue and reduces cultural risk, rather than adding additional cultural risk.

Delegates of the Australia Week in China 2014 trade mission have access to additional cultural training opportunities via a support-pack of cultural competence materials provided by UGM, to access during and after their visit to China.

Delegates interested in obtaining a copy of Dr Byrne's recent book, "Business Success in the Asian Century", can order through our stockist, Abbey's Bookshops (click here for the link).

If you would like to discuss cultural support options for the business with Asian counterparts, call us on (+61 2) 9964 9861 for a confidential discussion.
